Through the Lens in Milan

When most people think of Italy, their minds jump to Rome, pizza, or Venice. For me, it’s something deeper: culture, architecture, and nature. These were the reasons I chose to spend my holiday in Milan, a city both romantically fashionable and endlessly inspiring.

Over the course of a week, my partner and I explored everything from bustling streets to serene landscapes. Our days blended nature with urban life, my favourite combination to photograph. Driving through Milan’s traffic (an adventure in itself!) gave us access to places that showed Italy’s contrasts at their best.

One highlight was our trip to Lake Como. The moment the sun dipped behind the mountains and cast its glow across the water, I understood why people call it magical. Every direction I turned felt like a composition waiting to be captured, reflections on the lake, vibrant colours of the sunset, the stillness of the surrounding villages.

Beyond the scenery, what made the trip unforgettable was sharing it with my partner. Travel, after all, is not just about places, it’s about moments, connections, and the way we see the world differently when we experience it with someone we love.

Milan reminded me why I fell in love with photography in the first place: it’s about capturing those hidden details that tell bigger stories. And this trip gave me plenty of those.
